Forever and Always PPA 127

For the Sketch Challenge, PPA 127, I did something I personally have never done before.  I stamped directly on DSP and did not use any cardstock.

I used two designs from Julianne, a DSP collection from K&Company.  I stamped directly on to the DSP.

Using one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets, Herb Expressions, I stamped the Lavender image onto the DSP.  I then colored the leaves with a SU stampin' write marker in Old Olive.  I also colored the flowers.  I cut the image out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals.  I then sponged the oval die cut with Old Olive.

The verticle sentiment is also from Herb Expressions.

The sentiment at the top of the sketch is from the Loving Thoughts set that can be found in the Occasions Mini.

This sketch was fun; thanks PPA!.

PPA 126

To start 2012, we have a color challenge!

Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.

I placed a SU order early in 2012 and have been enjoying many of the new Stampin' Up! products.   If you have viewed my previous blogs, you know I have recently used a few of the Memorybox dies for the The Big Shot in my card designs.

I have to say that Stampin' Up!'s new Sizzlits large Paper Doily die is so much easier to use than those from Memorybox!  The design is intricate, yet easy to remove from the die, and the cut sections just pop right out!  Keep 'em coming Stampin' Up!

I added dimensionals under the circle of Not Quite Navy behind the doily to pop it up on the card.  The paper ribbon is punched with SU's Lace Ribbon Border punch.  The "Hello" sentiment, stamped in Not Quite Navy, is from the Elementary Elegance stamp set from the Sale-A Bration catalog.  Happy New Year!

2012 Pals Blog Hop - Love is in the Air

Love is in the air as the Stampin' Pretty Pals share the love with cards and projects for today's Pals Blog Hop!

You've probably hopped over from Patti MacLeith at Papercrafts by Patti

I'm stop number 24 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in!  I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for love themed paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.

My contribution is this Valentine's Day Card.  On Whisper White cardstock with Cherry Cobbler  I stamped the floral design from the Fresh Vintage stamp set.  I stamped all around to make my own background pattern for the card.

I used two sizes of the labels from the new Framelits dies, from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  One is cut from Cherry Cobbler, the other is cut from Whisper White and stamped with the the floral design from the new Apothecary Art stamp set, also in the Occasions Mini.  Using Watercolor Pencils and my Aqua Painter, I "painted" the leaves and roses.

Using dimensionals, I layered the framelits. I pieced the banner in Cherry Cobbler and using the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, stamped the sentiment on Whisper White, punched with the Word Window.

The finishing touch was to highlight the roses with Dazzling Details.  Love is in the air!
